Visual Direction (Illustration + Cover)

Role

I led the visual development from early editorial brainstorming through launch across digital and social platforms. The images were cohesive and challenging, clarifying the analysis without overwhelming it. The work was later featured on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

Create a visual identity to anchor a concept-driven podcast series

Challenge

Art Direction and Visual Identity

Role

With only a title and minimal early context, I built the cover art and visual identity for the series. I established the typography, color palette, and graphic language to convey science, innovation, and forward motion.

I delivered the final cover, a flexible visual system, and digital-first brand assets. As the sole designer, I led the project from concept through execution and client delivery.

Bringing Motion
To Top Risks

Top Risks has always been presented with static images. Motion would help complex ideas cut through in fast-moving social feeds.

Translate Top Risks’ visual language into motion-driven storytelling without sacrificing nuance or depth

Challenge

Concept, Art Direction, and Motion

Role

For this self-directed project, I began with one of my own editorial illustrations from the 2024 Top Risks Report. I wrote a short script based on the analysis, selecting key ideas and then words to move the story forward. I extended the original artwork beyond the static frame using pacing, transitions, and on-screen movement to guide the viewer. I also redesigned the Top Risks logo to support motion.

The goal was a concise, rhythmic narrative, punchy enough to hold attention in a social feed while remaining true to the analysts’ work. I have introduced subtle movement to other Top Risks images. These are more than decorations, they draw in readers and deepen the storytelling. These projects reflect my commitment to storytelling across formats, platforms, and audiences.
