Develop a compelling, internally coherent suite of editorial illustrations that interpret complex political and economic issues in the US and the world
Challenge
Lead Editorial Designer
Role
I led the visual interpretation from the writers’ early brainstorming through final delivery across digital and social platforms. Through iteration and critique, I refined each piece, maintaining a cohesive visual language and ensuring every image was sharply defined without overpowering the narrative.
My approach to design and art direction is to shape complex analysis into compelling visual systems through concept development, visual leadership, and editorial judgment.

Create a visual identity to anchor a concept-driven podcast series

Lead Designer
Role
With the podcast title and minimal context during early development, I was tasked with creating cover art and the broader visual identity for the series. I defined the typography, color palette, and graphic language to communicate science, innovation, and momentum.
I produced the final cover art, a flexible visual system, branding, and social assets optimized for digital distribution. As the project’s sole designer, I led creative decision-making from concept through execution, final review, and client delivery.

Bringing Motion
To Top Risks
Top Risks has always been presented with static images. Motion would help complex ideas cut through in fast-moving social feeds.
Translate Top Risks’ visual language into motion-driven storytelling without sacrificing nuance or depth
Challenge
Lead Designer
Role
For this self-directed project, I began with one of my own editorial illustrations from the 2024 Top Risks Report. I wrote a short script based on the analysis, selecting key ideas and then words to move the story forward. I extended the original artwork beyond the static frame using pacing, transitions, and on-screen movement to guide the viewer. I also redesigned the Top Risks logo to support motion.
The goal was a narrative that was concise, rhythmic, and punchy enough to hold attention in a social feed while remaining true to the analysts’ work. I have introduced subtle movement to other Top Risks images. These are more than decorations, they draw in readers and deepen the storytelling.
These projects reflect my commitment to editorial storytelling across formats, platforms, and audiences.
